Trace Matei’s missing boots
Emre won a pair of expensive boots from Matei in a game, but Matei did not have them with him. Before leaving for Svartrau with Gogu and Nichita, he wrote down where he thought he had left them.
The search area has three landmarks: travel south from Pilgrim’s Trail shrine, stay on the west bank of the Stuga, and look for the old camp near a rock crag. The letter refers to the previous camp, rather than the place where Emre was sleeping.
Matei also mentions a new worker who stayed behind to pack coal and was taking unusually long to return. That detail explains why waiting for the boots to be delivered was uncertain even to the writer.
