Follow the marked trees to Heile’s brother
Tonis is the lumberjack Heile asks Coen to find in Good Home. Her trail leads through Oghasti and the Wooden Palace to smoke rising near the charcoal burners’ camp. The camp is a lead rather than the end of the search: Tonis works separately, a short distance from the main group.
Ask the charcoal burners about him and follow the trees he has marked for cutting. Helping with his work is an available way to encourage a conversation. If the camp’s inhabitants are dead, the quest instead asks Coen to search the area for Tonis, so the marked-tree route remains useful context for the search.
Once he learns Heile is alive, meet him near the burrow. The reunion has two different living outcomes: persuade the creatures to let Heile return to her brother at the Burner’s Clearing, or persuade Tonis to let her stay in the burrow with monthly visits. If Tonis has died, Coen must tell Heile rather than arrange that reunion.
The burrow also has a request for three shiny teeth from dead human enemies. Keep that request separate from locating Tonis: helping the sanzhani and finding the brother are different objectives in the same quest.
