Match the smoker to Ascar’s beehives
Distant Shadows sends Coen to Tantari during the day to observe Ascar for Marat. The journal identifies Ascar’s hut by the beehives around it; IGN’s walkthrough places the house on the south side of the settlement. This is the relevant quest setting for the smoker.
Inspecting the beehive is an optional part of that investigation, separate from following Ascar. The smoker’s purpose is to calm the bees during the inspection. Keep track of Ascar’s movement and the active objective if you stop to examine the hives.
