Build the bonus through repeated Witchcraft use
Aether Cascade increases Witchcraft Ability Damage by 20% for each Witchcraft Ability used in combat, up to 100%. The five steps are +20%, +40%, +60%, +80% and +100%. Casting again after reaching that ceiling does not add a sixth 20% step.
The bonus resets after combat, so a long battle offers more opportunity to build and use it than several brief, separate encounters. A short fight that ends with the opening cast cannot give you the same sustained value as a rotation with several qualifying uses.
Check the resources for that rotation. Renewed Focus ranks 1 and 2 improve passive Activation Charge restoration by 15% and 30%; rank 3 adds restoration from attacks. Unholy Fervour instead gives Witchcraft a 20% or 40% chance to refund a charge. Budget for the Health cost of each cast as well as its Activation Charges.
This is a human-form Witchcraft Ultimate. The 35-point gate counts ordinary Witchcraft perks, so purchases in Swordmastery or the Active Abilities panel do not replace that investment. The four-point Ultimate purchase and its two time segments come after the gate.
The Witchcraft tree has 63 ordinary perk points in total, with only nine on ranks that require no manual. Reaching the 35-point gate therefore needs manual access. Compare the book requirements of the ordinary perks in your plan, not just the Ultimate’s own manual-free rank.

Costs are shown for each rank. Totals include this skill’s ranks only.
You can learn only one Ultimate Perk in the Witchcraft skill tree. Learning Aether Cascade makes the other Ultimates in this tree unavailable.
