How to learn Amalgam

Which buffs count toward the two- or three-buff limit
Amalgam only concerns consumables whose effect lasts for time segments, such as Keen Eye Potion, Fortitude Paste, Powder of Sharp Mind, Balm of Fortitude and the three Bane Brews. Rank 1 lets two of those buffs run together and rank 2 raises the limit to three. Food that lasts seconds and instant restoratives fall outside the rule.
Form still decides what you can combine. A daytime stack might pair Aetheric Attunement for Witchcraft damage with Vitality Balm and Keen Eye Potion; at night, Vrakhiri Attunement and Razor Claw Vial are vampire-only options. The blood infusions also carry a segment-length vampiric health effect, so count them when planning a night stack.
Both ranks need Amalgam Manual and cost one skill point and one time segment each. The cheapest route to rank 2 from nothing is Forager rank 1, Herbal Remedies I rank 1 and both Amalgam ranks: four points, four segments and two manuals. Herbal Remedies I pays off here as well, since it lengthens the same segment-based buffs.
