How to get Gargoyle's Blade
Get Gargoyle’s Blade after fighting the Beast of St. Teotim’s during What Hunts the Night. Search the two sacks beside the gargoyle before inspecting its body and triggering the escape.
Reach St. Teotim’s with Crake and Sara
Finish Where Loyalty Lies and report to Crake at the manumits’ stronghold in the merchant’s house on the south side of Svartrau. Follow him and Sara to St. Teotim’s in the Middens at night.
Inside the church, inspect the ichor and blood, follow the trail to the locked door and let Sara open it. The Beast of St. Teotim’s attacks here. Parry before committing to an attack, and dodge backward from its jumping slam and unblockable double-blade slash.
Loot the sacks before the next cutscene
After the fight, Crake tends to Sara. Search both sacks beside the gargoyle for the blades before examining the corpse. Finishing that inspection starts a cutscene and the escape through Svartrau, so make the loot stop while you are still in the church.
Critical hits or maximum Health?
Gargoyle’s Blade has 37–53 base damage, 3% weapon critical hit chance and 4.5% weapon critical damage. It combines a better chance of a critical hit with a bonus to that hit’s damage.
Crake’s Sword, found in the following quest What Moves the Dead, has the same base-damage range but adds maximum Health and damage against supernatural enemies. Compare the effect bundles when deciding which reward to keep equipped.
