Expect dogs both outside and inside Anca’s ruins
Undead dogs appear during Where Old Devils Lie on Anca’s search for the Font of Life. After the lake sequence, follow the river upstream and crawl through the cave. Dogs attack on the far side and again as you approach the ruins.
After clearing the approach, look to the right of the entrance for the crack into the ruins. Farther inside, the large metal doors below the main room lead to a fight with two undead dogs and an undead warrior. Finish preparing before opening them, since this encounter combines fast animals with a humanoid enemy.
Keep the dogs in view when choosing an opening against the warrior. Dealing with a dog first can reduce the number of attackers you must watch. The continuation, Stronger Than Achilles, also includes a fight with two dogs and two undead warriors, so the first group is not the last animal encounter on this route.
