Corruption is Vampirism progression, with a level cap of 15
Corruption measures Coen’s permanent vampiric growth. Feeding and blood-related consumables can add Corruption progress, while Vampirism ranks use the resulting level as an unlock requirement. In the original game, the progression table ends at Corruption level 15.
Murohn Blood and Kobold’s Blood are blood restoratives that also increase Corruption.
Reaching a required Corruption level only clears that part of an ability’s requirements. You may still need the previous rank, skill points, learning time or a blood-related unlock. Check the specific ability or skill before spending a phial for progression.
Does feeding on animals raise Corruption?
Feeding on wild animals, including deer and rabbits, adds Corruption progress. Human blood raises it faster, and fully draining a human gives more progress than stopping after Voracious Bite leaves them unconscious. Choosing animals for nighttime healing still contributes toward your next Corruption level.
Corruption thresholds rise at levels 4, 8 and 11
Each row below shows the Corruption progress consumed when that new level is reached. A range means every level in that range uses the listed amount.
| New Corruption level | Progress required per level |
|---|---|
| 1 | 5 |
| 2 | 10 |
| 3 | 15 |
| 4–7 | 25 |
| 8–10 | 35 |
| 11–15 | 45 |
The thresholds total 460 progress from level 0 to level 15. This is not a feed count: different sources can add different amounts, and the threshold is also separate from Blood Reserve segments.
Check progress toward the next Corruption level
Enter your current Corruption level and the progress you have recorded toward the next one. Levels run from 0 to 15.
The next level consumes 25 progress. Extra progress is not discarded when a level-up occurs.
This planner does not convert progress into a number of feeds or targets. Different sources can add different amounts, and Blood Reserve is a separate value.
A Corruption level-up can wait until feeding and combat end
The normal upgrade flow checks whether Coen has enough progress for the next level, then waits if he is actively feeding or still in combat. When a level appears to be ready but has not advanced, finish the feeding interaction and leave combat. Ending a feed also retries the level-up check.
Focus itself is not a final blocker in the current build. If you are troubleshooting a delayed level, the relevant conditions are the active feeding target and combat state.
Only the newly reached level’s threshold is consumed. Extra progress remains available for the following level instead of being cleared, so a large Corruption gain can continue to count after the first increase.
This describes the normal progression flow. It does not guarantee a repair for a save whose Corruption state is already broken.
Check the rank requirement before raising Corruption
Open the desired rank and note its Corruption, skill-point and time requirements. The skill calculator totals ranks and prerequisites, while the build planner helps reserve ability slots and compare human and vampire loadouts.
Five vampire powers begin with a separate named-blood unlock. Use the boss blood guide to match each phial to Scarlet Shield, Shadowstorm, Blood Surge, Piercing Shriek or Mesmerise. Their later ranks still have their own Corruption requirements.
