The Relic of St. Tobias

Inspect the arm on the wisp trail, before entering the crypt

During The Night of Horrors, follow Lacra and the wisps through the swamp. After the stone slab and the zombie and tatzelwurm encounters, the trail enters a ravine and reaches a clearing with twisted vines. Inspect the vine and severed arm in the middle of this area.

Finish examining the arm, including its cut, tooth and ring clues. Completing this inspection gives you the Relic of St. Tobias. This happens on the outdoor trail before the root-covered crypt entrance; the later corpse with The Vrakhir sword and the chest near the mandrake are separate finds.

Keep the hand if you intend to use it for A Bulwark Against Darkness. It is one of four accepted alternatives for that quest’s saint relic component. Only the relic you select is consumed; you do not need to surrender all four. Compare the saint relic options before choosing a wearable amulet instead.

The Lost Saint’s Relic is a different item: an amulet with magic-damage and magic Health-cost bonuses. Tobias’s preserved hand is the quest component described here. The signet still attached to its finger is part of its description, not a separate equippable ring granted by this inspection.
