About trade goods in Dawnwalker
Compare 105 trade goods by base sell value and weight before carrying loot back to a merchant. This category includes pelts, meat, broken tools, tableware, soldier patches and insignia. Deer can drop Animal Hide and Venison; pigs can drop Pork.
The spread is wide. Sell values run from a single coin for scraps to several hundred for the best pelts and jewellery, while the heaviest goods weigh close to two units and the lightest almost nothing. Sort by value per weight when your inventory is near its limit; the armour penalties guide explains what happens when it goes over.
Open a named item for its available source and carrying-value comparison. The table uses base values; item level, trading skills and court edicts can change the price offered by a merchant.

Buyers, animal loot and goods to keep separate
Choose a buyer before making a selling trip
Ordinary goods and gold valuables can be sold to Vicho at his Svartrau home at night after you finish the warehouse investigation in A Study in Crimson. His shop buys trade goods as well as equipment and supplies.
If you are already taking silver to the Neustadt Silver Trader, bring your ordinary trade goods too: he buys junk and gold valuables as well as silver. Shiny Teeth have a different buyer, the Sanzhana you help during Pearly and Precious.
Gold and silver tableware follow different selling rules. Golden Bowl, Golden Chalice, Golden Mug and Golden Platter can go to an ordinary shop that buys valuables. Silver Bowl, Silver Chalice, Silver Mug and Silver Platter belong in your Silver Trader bundle.
Collect pelts and meat from the right enemies
Bears can drop Bear Fur and Bear Meat; boars can drop Wild Boar Hide and Boar Meat; wolves can drop Wolf Pelt, Wolf Fangs and Wolf Meat. Search the defeated animal rather than expecting every item in its loot pool on each kill.
Chickens can drop Drumstick, cows Beef, sheep Lamb, rabbits Rabbit Meat and rats Rat Meat. These particular meat items are trade goods. Consumable meals such as Roast Chicken are separate items in Food and Drinks.
Psoglavs can drop Hellhound Pelt, while Undead Dogs can drop Dead Wolf Pelt. Kobolds can drop Crooked Teeth. Crooked Teeth and Wolf Fangs are ordinary sale goods; the Sanzhana tooth buyer deals in the distinct Shiny Tooth item.
Separate ordinary tools from named quest objects
Broken Armour, Broken Sword, Broken Boots and Damaged Gauntlets are sale goods, not wearable equipment entries. Put them with the tools and household scraps you intend to sell; compare usable armour and weapons in their equipment directories.
Rope and Hemp Rope are different objects. Plain Rope is a trade good; Hemp Rope belongs to a corpse investigation. Spool of Thread is likewise a sale item, whereas Silk Threads are requested for the Arbiter armour.
Parchment is ordinary blank stock. Blank Parchment is a separate Compel Soul catalyst for the dead werewolf. Rotten Apple is also separate from the Trampled Apple used in the opening Laslea investigation. Match the full item name before taking something to a quest location.
Check whether a relic is wearable or a sale valuable
Remains of an Ancient Ring, Bracelet, Helmet and Shield are trade goods. They do not occupy the equipment slots used by intact rings, bracers or armour. The arrowhead, hairpin, old tools and two broken figurines belong to the same group of sale curiosities.
Saint’s Collarbone and Saint’s Finger are sale valuables. The Relic of St. Tyna is a different, wearable item: it is the necklace sought by the soldiers during Most Precious Thing. Check that quest before deciding what to hand over.
Golden Cross and Wooden Cross are sale goods. Silver Cross is silver contraband, while Silver Crucifix is a separate quest object. Their similar names do not make them interchangeable in a quest or a shop.
