Check for Saint’s Tibia before sacrificing an amulet
A Bulwark Against Darkness needs a saint’s relic as one of the components for the Arbiter armour. The relic you select is consumed. If you already have Saint’s Tibia, it is a useful first option to consider: you can satisfy the component request while keeping an amulet you currently use.
That choice depends on your inventory. The Relics of St. Tyna and St. Dasius are wearable amulets with Witchcraft-related bonuses. Before offering either one, compare its effects with your other amulets in the equipment comparison. Replacing an equipped amulet can change several parts of a loadout at once.
The chosen relic is sacrificed. Read the item name in the hand-in dialogue and choose the one you intend to give up. Finding an acceptable relic does not mean you need to surrender every relic in your inventory.
Four relic options and what you give up
Polygon’s armour guide identifies the following four options. These are alternatives for the relic component, not four items you must collect together. The item pages link their properties with the relevant quest or merchant.
| Relic | Where to look | Before offering it |
|---|---|---|
| Saint’s Tibia | St. Tyna’s convent, associated with Echoes of Silenced Bells. | A relic item with no equipment slot. Choosing it lets you keep your wearable relics. |
| The Relic of St. Tyna | Echoes of Silenced Bells. Keep possession of it if you intend to use it for the armour. | An amulet that improves magic damage, magic health cost and active charge restoration. Compare those bonuses with your replacement. |
| The Relic of St. Tobias | The Night of Horrors, a quest associated with Lacra. | The saint’s preserved hand, with his signet still attached. This is a separate object from The Lost Saint’s Relic amulet. |
| The Relic of St. Dasius | Vicho, once his Witchcraft shop is available through A Study in Crimson. | An amulet with magic and charge-restoration bonuses. If you own an alternative relic, compare before spending money on one that will be consumed. |
For a character using Witchcraft, keeping a useful amulet may matter more than its sale value. For a character with a better replacement already equipped, the same amulet may be a reasonable component. The practical question is which item you can spare.
The Lost Saint’s Relic and Tobias’s hand are different items
The Lost Saint’s Relic is a Master amulet. Its equipment effects are magic damage and reduced magic health cost. The Relic of St. Tobias is the preserved hand described above; it has its own item entry and quest association.
If you are deciding what to equip, compare The Lost Saint’s Relic with the other amulets. If you are filling the armour quest’s relic requirement, check the exact item offered in the dialogue. Similar names alone do not tell you whether two objects serve the same purpose.
The relic is one of four armour components
The component list also calls for Large Lizard’s Moult, Silk Threads and a Flask of Quicksilver. Keep those items alongside your chosen relic for the Uriashi blacksmith, Nareh.
Save the armour quest to return to it as you gather the components. My journey keeps your goals in this browser, with no account needed. You can add a note about which relic you plan to offer.
Ordinary crafting ingredients are not interchangeable with these named components. In particular, the Flask of Quicksilver is its own quest item; the similarly named Mercurial Water is used in regular crafting recipes. For potions and other preparations, use the separate crafting and alchemy guide.
