Return after Volk’s first day of rest in Buried Past. When he complains about his back, ask if you can help. He points you to an ointment recipe on the shelf and identifies feverfew as the ingredient growing nearby.
Walk west from the hut to the riverbank. Use Focus to find the highlighted patches of feverfew and collect the quest herbs, then return to the hut.
Read the recipe before preparing the ointment
Read the recipe on Volk’s shelf and complete the ointment interaction. Gathering the feverfew costs two time segments, and preparing the ointment costs one more. These are optional help objectives within the longer quest.
Other visits involve separate requests, such as chopping wood and retrieving his knife. Completing the ointment errand does not skip the rest periods between the main conversations.
