Use the lizard clue before brewing
Find Vera’s ritual notes at the blanket reached by following the blood trail south from her body. Her note says Adela recognised the nearby beast and that its gland should let Iulian’s body withstand the poison.
The nearby source is the Pale Ravager, a Tatzelwurm in the cave north of the blanket. Defeat it, loot the gland and return to Codrin. During the potion scene, add the salamander skin; Coen also uses the gland if you brought it.
You must still complete the daytime pillar ritual and have Codrin drink its final dose. The gland protects him from the poisoning; it does not replace the ritual or the plan to have Ambrus feed on him before the duel.
Vera’s mention of a larger dose concerns her attempt to poison the lizard. It is separate from the gland’s role in protecting Codrin, so the note contains two different ideas rather than one interchangeable ingredient instruction.
