After I caused him a lot of trouble and showed that I'm not a man to be trifled with, Brencis decided to invite me to a parley. It was supposed to take place in the Shrike's Crag – where Skender once quelled an uprising against his reign. A trap? Maybe. But it could be an opportunity to save my family...
Allow four segments for the nighttime parley
The quest is listed under Tantari Woods, but its introduction names Shrike’s Crag as the planned meeting place. Skender quelled a peasant revolt there nine years after becoming knyaz in 1324, so Brencis’s choice points Coen toward a site tied to the former ruler’s violence.
“Parley with Brencis” is a nighttime objective with a four-segment completion cost. The signal interaction previews that same cost, so count the four segments once when planning this objective.
If you arrive during the day, the signal interaction offers a choice to leave or wait until evening. Choosing to wait brings the clock to around 20:00. Account for that change of time separately from the parley’s four segments; the wait depends on when you arrive.
Brencis invites Coen after Coen has caused him enough trouble. The journal frames the parley as uncertain: Coen suspects a trap but sees a possible chance to save his family. Receiving that invitation is not the same decision as agreeing to Brencis’s terms.
Before committing to a final route, keep a separate manual save and compare the bargain with the solo assault, Lacra’s attack and the rebels’ operation. The endings guide explains how accepting Brencis’s terms differs from defeating him and making a decision afterward. Your route and whether the family is still alive are separate parts of that outcome.
