Knyaz of Vale Sangora

Brencis

Brencis rules Vale Sangora from Greifberg Castle after overthrowing Skender Dragosti with three vampire lieutenants. He established an exchange of blood between the vrakhiri and their human subjects. Despite his visibly aged body, his power remains a central threat to the valley.

My journey

Survive Brencis’s sword phase and Anachora form

Brencis’s final battle has two phases. The first uses the sword and blood attacks familiar from the prologue; near defeat, he takes Coen into Anachora and changes form. Prepare healing and equipped abilities before entering the final chamber, and keep a separate save before departing for Greifberg if you want to explore another ending.

In the sword phase, read the opening of each combo. A red-skull opener can lead into a normal swing and another unblockable strike, so stay clear of the whole sequence rather than committing after the middle hit. A normal opener gives a better opportunity to parry and take one or two hits before returning to defence.

At range, dodge sideways when he leaps toward you and punish the landing recovery with a short attack. Sidestep the blood javelin as well, but do not assume it gives the same opening. His low advancing two-handed swipe is a different approach: create space backward instead of waiting for a jump.

Anachora shifts the fight toward evasion. His tentacle strikes cannot be handled like normal sword blocks. Sideways sweeps call for distance, while an overhead strike is a cue to move out of its line. Keep your counterattacks short so you can react when the next attack starts.

Move sideways out of the Piercing Shriek cone. A scream directed upward or an airborne slam warns of damage around him, so retreat from the landing area. Later, repeated tentacle pounds advance across the ground; move away from their path rather than backing up along the same line. Leave the large glyph beneath Coen before it can pull him in for a draining attack.

Boyar manifestations can add attacks during this phase. Watch for Xanthe’s floor glyphs and be ready to block a sequence of Ambrus’s copies. Do not build your survival plan around receiving help from an earlier invitation: the observed encounter can vary, and the extra attacks still need attention. Use reliable ability openings while keeping enough resources to survive the next sequence.

The pre-fight conversation and the post-fight invitation have different outcomes. Bowing to Brencis accepts a bargain that can leave him in power; inviting him in after defeating him is a later choice. The ending route also depends on whether Coen arrived alone or with an ally, and saving the family requires meeting the campaign deadline.
