How to learn Master Fencer
The following manual supplies the book unlock for ranks marked “Manual unlock” in the rank table. Skill points and time are spent when you purchase the rank. See the skill book guide for manual requirements and planning examples.
Add Swordmastery ability slots one rank at a time
Master Fencer is a Swordmastery passive that increases the number of Swordmastery ability slots. Rank 1 gives two available slots, rank 2 raises the total to three and rank 3 raises it to four; these are slot totals, not three separate bonuses that stack beyond the listed number.
Sustained Focus is the prerequisite. Rank 1 is available without the manual, while ranks 2 and 3 require Master Fencer Manual. Learning every rank costs four skill points and three time segments, so the manual unlocks access but does not pay for the ranks.
Use the extra slots when your build has more Swordmastery abilities worth equipping. Restless Blade is the child entry in the Swordmastery tree; compare its effect separately instead of treating it as another Master Fencer rank.
