How to get Dead Man's Sword
Find Dead Man’s Sword during Don’t Kill the Messenger in Tantari Woods. It is both a usable longsword and an object for questioning the dead messenger with Compel Soul.
Start at the abandoned camp east of the road just north of Eastridge Outpost. Investigate with Focus and follow the footprints into the woods. Pick up the Uriash Horn beside the rock wall as you follow the trail.
Defeat the uriash soldier at the end of the trail, then search the area for the arrow and Dead Man’s Sword. During the day, use Compel Soul on the messenger and present the objects you collected to learn what happened.
After questioning the messenger, inspect the shoe for the hidden note. This completes the investigation into the coded message meant for the manumits. The sword’s role in that conversation is separate from its use as a weapon.
