Open the chests after the Font trial
Continue Anca’s questline from Where Old Devils Lie into Stronger Than Achilles. Follow her through the ruins, past the undead encounters and the warrior miniboss, then help her cross the broken room.
Deeper inside, inspect the tablet and use Astral Communion to begin the trial. After surviving the enemy waves, enter the Font of Life chamber. Resolve the Font choice, then check the two chests at the back before leaving: one provides the Padded Mail Shirt, while the other holds a manual and ring.
Padded Mail Shirt has 48 base armour and 5% vampiric health restoration in the Medium class. Its Polished and Sturdy variants raise that recovery bonus to 8% and 10%; Polished adds blood drinking power, while Sturdy adds damage against supernatural enemies and charge restoration from parries.
