Phial of Ambrus's Blood

Phial of Ambrus’s Blood unlocks Scarlet Shield, or advances it by one rank if you already know it. Two carried phials are available separately from the opportunity to drink from Ambrus after his boss fight.

My journey
He might be young, but his blood is potent. Drink it to obtain Scarlet Shield in the Vampirism tree. Significantly increases Corruption.

Search the recruitment reliquary and Murohn cave

During Xanthe’s Recruiters: Just a Bit More, take the blood from the reliquary at the recruitment tent outside the Silty Mug Inn, between The Silts and Tantari Woods. Destroying the reliquary does not award the phial.

The other phial is in the Murohn cave in the heart of St. Tyna’s Grove, east of Svartrau City. Defeat the Murohn and collect the phial there.

If you already unlocked Scarlet Shield and both phials remain available, buy rank 2 before drinking the two phials. That lets them advance ranks 3 and 4, saving the higher skill-point and learning-time purchases. A purchased rank still needs its Corruption requirement.

The phial can be consumed in either form and significantly increases Corruption. Scarlet Shield itself belongs to Vampirism and needs an equipped ability slot, even though its healing triggers from blocks. Check the ability panel after drinking.
