The vial and Animal Blood Infusion are different items
Animal Blood Infusion is a prepared consumable. Its recipe combines Vial of Animal Blood × 1 with Ribwort Plantain × 2 and Yellow Sweet Clover × 2. The infusion’s description says it replenishes a small part of Blood Reserve and increases Corruption.
The vial itself also states that it increases Corruption when used. Keep its role as an ingredient in mind before consuming or selling your supply: the table below shows the preparations that need it.
It can also be used directly for nighttime recovery. Put a blood vial in a quickslot before combat if you want an option that does not depend on finding a suitable feeding target. Story difficulty allows direct inventory drinking during combat.
