We found Brencis's maker in horrible shape – he couldn't answer any of our questions. Lacra is trying to help him. Hopefully, soon he'll be able to give us something helpful in defeating the knyaz.
Where Our Rotten Roots fits in Lacra’s story
This is the next part of Lacra’s search after Hive and Seek. Isbrand has been found, but Coen and Lacra still need answers that may help them oppose Brencis.
The Night of Horrors is the following expedition. Its mandrake reward and optional romance belong to that later quest, so reaching Our Rotten Roots is a step toward those opportunities rather than the point where they are awarded.
The quest’s map marker is in Rockfalls, while the journal groups the story under The Silts. Use the map link for the physical objective and the journal region for the quest list; they describe different parts of the same route.
Piercing Shriek is the ability connection recorded for this quest line. Keep it separate from Mesmerise and Mandrake Ward, which are tied to later blood and perk decisions in The Night of Horrors.
