Lacra’s search for Isbrand, Brencis’s sire, takes Coen from Crown Rock through the Uriashi village and kobold caves. Follow the five quests below to reach The Night of Horrors, keeping track of the village standoff, the later Hive negotiation and the items to collect along the way.
Story spoilers: the sections below explain village consequences, the Hive negotiation and later rewards. For only the relationship conversation, go to Lacra’s romance section.
Lacra’s quest order

| 3. Hive and Seek | Enter the kobold caves and find Isbrand. | The separate Hive negotiation and Isbrand’s Plate. |

When to meet Lacra, and when to wait
- Song of the Mountain: meet Lacra at Crown Rock at night and continue the climb when the journal asks you to go. Prioritise this appointment if you want to keep the Uriashi village peaceful.
- After Hive and Seek: give Lacra a full in-game day, then meet her in the fort at night to continue Our Rotten Roots.
- After Our Rotten Roots: let a full in-game day pass, then find Lacra at the tower near Westridge Outpost Shrine for the next conversation leading to The Night of Horrors.
When both later tasks are available, choose You had some idea to talk through?
for The Night of Horrors. It’s time to deal with Brencis.
begins Midnight Reckoning and Lacra’s final assault route. Choose the expedition first if you still want its items and mandrake opportunity.
Keep the Uriashi village peaceful in Song of the Mountain
The confrontation with the village guards is a consequential part of Song of the Mountain. A fight can leave you without village vendors and the Elder’s A Mother’s Plea request. Finishing Lacra’s current quest and keeping those village opportunities are different goals.
At the guard confrontation, the peaceful route uses Lacra, calm down.
, Nobody needs to die.
and Can we stop with the hostilities?
as the exchange develops. When the test follows, allow it to proceed instead of turning the confrontation into a fight.
Is Ocha’s quest lost if the Elder’s request is unavailable?
The Elder’s request and Ocha’s own quest have different starting conditions. The Heart Wants What It Wants can begin by meeting Ocha directly at the Altenmarkt tavern in western Svartrau. You do not have to obtain A Mother’s Plea first.
If the Elder is available, her request sends you to Ocha and lets you return with news of her decision. The listed rewards include Soul Stigma Manual and sacred-stone map information. For books sold by the village teacher, consult the teacher and vendor list.
The kobold Hive has its own peaceful solution
The Hive negotiation happens later, inside the caves during Hive and Seek. It does not replace the earlier village decision. You can accept the kobolds’ guidance through the tunnels, then face another conversation after defeating Chonk.
To talk the Hive out of attacking at that point, the walkthrough gives this sequence:
Calm down and think for a moment.
You can’t all eat at once.
You will lose your bond if you eat it.
The final argument concerns what the vrakhir flesh would do to their shared bond. Once the confrontation is resolved, check the equipment pickup below before finishing the meeting with Isbrand.
If a cave route ends unexpectedly, check the Hotfix 1.0.4 quest notes: that PC update addressed a solution in Hive and Seek ending prematurely.
What to collect before moving on
| Reward or item | Where it connects | Why keep track of it? |
|---|---|---|
| Isbrand’s Plate | A chest beside Isbrand near the end of Hive and Seek. | Open it before the conversation advances the quest; speaking to him does not collect the armour. |
| The Vrakhir | The sunken crypt in The Night of Horrors; the walkthrough describes inspecting a body twice. | A weapon pickup along the expedition, separate from its final conversation. |
| The Relic of St. Tobias | The Night of Horrors expedition. | An accepted saint’s relic for A Bulwark Against Darkness. |
| Mandrake Ward | Accepting the mandrake near the end of The Night of Horrors. | A recovery perk from the mandrake decision, before the relationship conversation. |
| Mesmerise | Lacra’s blood-drinking opportunity; her blood phial also grants the ability when used. | An ability unlocked through blood, separately from the mandrake perk. |
Before using St. Tobias’s relic for armour, compare the other accepted relics. For the perk’s trigger and nightly limit, see Mandrake Ward.
After The Night of Horrors
The optional relationship conversation occurs in The Night of Horrors. Its dialogue choices are covered in the romance guide, alongside Anca’s and Crake’s opportunities.
For the later assault with Lacra, follow Midnight Reckoning and its requested return time. The final assault route comparison covers departure at the abandoned fort and the approach to Greifberg.
