How to get Weathered Longsword
Weathered Longsword gives Coen a weapon inside Mert’s prison tower during Under Watchful Eye. Look for it before confronting the guard if you surrendered your equipment in The Firebrand.
Arm yourself inside the prison tower
Enter the tower where Mert is held and search the back-right corner of the room occupied by his guard. Stealing Weathered Longsword makes the guard hostile: open the inventory immediately and equip it before exchanging blows.
Take the prison keys from the guard to release Mert. You can fight back through the compound, or use the locked doors in the northern overseer’s tower to reach the outside wall. Taking Back What’s Mine handles the equipment you handed over earlier; the sword pickup does not itself return those belongings.
A weapon for the escape
The useful distinction here is access: the sword is available inside the guarded compound when Coen may have no equipped blade. Check it against your recovered equipment after leaving, instead of treating the prison pickup as an upgrade for every build.
