Dawnwalker

Mihai

Mihai is remembered as Svartrau's patron saint and a dragon-slayer. Coen's encounter with him beneath the cathedral reveals a different history: he hunted vrakhiri, called himself a dawnwalker and had been betrayed and left chained in the catacombs.

My journey

Reach Mihai through either cathedral route

A Monk and a Saint can begin through Night Terrors or through the alternate A Dubious Gift route. The paths have different early objectives, but both lead to the crypt and the same encounter with Mihai, Patron Saint of the Cathedral. Choosing one route locks out the other for that playthrough, while either route still leads to the sword questline.

On the Night Terrors path, search the cathedral grounds for Mihai’s symbol, enter through the open tower at night, inspect the relevant records and descend to the crypt. On the A Dubious Gift path, help the deacon, enter the cathedral library, inspect the chronicle and use the pulpit to learn the symbol before entering the crypt. The treasury chalice is an optional shortcut on the second route.

Mihai uses regular sword attacks and has a large health pool; the reviewed walkthrough recommends level 25 or higher. After the fight, the timed dialogue choice does not change the main reward: you receive Broken Sword of St. Mihai and are directed to the Uriashi blacksmith. The boss room also contains Broken Chains and Worn Sheath quest items to collect with Focus.

Forge It Anew follows the broken sword. Collect the other sword pieces, bring them and the broken sword to Nareh at Uriashi Hermitage, then complete the ritual to reach the restored and imbued sword states.
