Silver matters; the shape of a crucifix does not
Vrakhiri are transformed humans with regeneration and supernatural powers. Silver and sunlight threaten them. Garlic and crucifixes do not provide the protection familiar from some vampire stories: a silver object matters because of its material, not because it forms a religious symbol.
Disturbed makes that distinction part of a practical decision. Vladimir takes a silver crucifix to turn it into weapons against the vrakhiri. His plan explains why the stolen cross has military value as well as personal value to Crina.
Vrakhir is a creature type, not the name of one encounter. Brencis and Xanthe have their own boss fights, while characters such as Vicho have different roles. Use the named character or boss page for quest conditions and combat details rather than treating every vrakhir as an interchangeable hostile enemy.
A murohn resembles a feral vrakhir, but its exact origin is left uncertain in Coen’s glossary. Its lairs and encounters are covered separately from the named vampires.
