Disrupting Brencis’s regime raises Coen’s Infamy. Each new Infamy level brings another edict: more patrols, checkpoints, higher prices and eventually the closure of Svartrau’s gates. Open the Court panel to see your current Infamy and the edicts in force.
Raise a boyar’s Anger to open their quest
The Court panel also tracks the Anger of Ambrus, Bakir and Xanthe. Disrupt activities associated with a particular boyar to fill that ruler’s Anger. At maximum, the sidequest tied to that vrakhir becomes available.
An Unknown Activity is something you have yet to discover through exploration. The Court descriptions identify the following activity groups:
| Boyar | Activities to look for |
|---|---|
| Ambrus | Blood Cellars, Blood Transports, Draining Dungeons, Leech Collectors, Prisoner Transports and the Prisoner Processing Camp. |
| Bakir | Distilleries, Pillories, Rebel Hunters, Payoff Transports and the Uriash Village. |
| Xanthe | Abducted Girls, Artefact Transports, Ancient Digsites, the Cathedral Ritual, Gargoyle Manufacture, Blood Guard Mentors and Blood Guard Recruiters. |
Choose the boyar whose quest you want to pursue, then use the quest directory and Vale Sangora map to find relevant activities. Progress against a boyar opens an opportunity to confront them while the wider Infamy system increases pressure on Coen.
Uriash Village has story consequences beyond Court progress. Read the village choices in Lacra’s questline before deciding how to handle that encounter.
Infamy has a 900-point ceiling
The Court's Infamy value can rise to 900. The current build uses explicit event changes rather than a calendar tick: decreases are 250, 100 and 15 points, while increases are 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 75, 100, 150 or 222 points.
| Direction | Possible change | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Decrease | −250, −100 or −15 | A decrease is an explicit game event; waiting for the clock alone is not a reset. |
| Increase | +5, +10, +15, +20, +25, +30, +40, +50, +75, +100, +150 or +222 | The event decides the value, so the same number should not be assigned to every theft or fight. |
The Court data also defines alert-stage thresholds at 3, 6 and 9. These are stage thresholds for the alert system, not three extra edicts. Read the Court panel for the current Infamy level and the edicts already active.
Guard searches and capture depend on the region
Guards have a base search range of 40 m. After a chase, their combat aggro range is 10 m.
If the police system captures Coen, it selects a region-specific imprisonment scene. The current build lists these five mappings:
| Region | Configured scene |
|---|---|
| Boar's Back | Parlita |
| Laslea Glen | Laslea |
| Maragir Wealds | Maragir |
| Tantari Woods | Tantari |
| Svartrau City | Svartrau |
The scene mapping confirms which regional sequence is used, but not the complete post-capture outcome. The wake-up position, lost items or money and time cost still need one in-game capture sample before they can be written as fixed results.
Can soldier armour disguise Coen?
There is no native disguise state in the rules covered here. Do not plan to pass a guard check by taking soldier armour or treating enemy equipment as a wearable disguise; the current page records guard recognition and capture instead.
All nine edicts and what they change
| Edict | Title | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| I | On Protection of Habitations | More armed patrols appear in settlements. |
| II | On Increased Vigilance | Military checkpoints appear across the valley. |
| III | On Prices and Tolls | Shop buy prices rise by 15% throughout the valley. |
| IV | On Road Safety | More soldiers patrol the roads, and patrol commanders recognise Coen. |
| V | On Curfew | Fewer people remain outdoors between dusk and dawn. |
| VI | On Civil Unrest | Further military checkpoints appear; shop buy prices are now 30% above their unmodified rate. |
| VII | On Public Enemy | Headhunters appear, and all soldiers recognise Coen. |
| VIII | On Army Reform | Soldiers become stronger. |
| IX | On Svartrau Defences | Svartrau’s gates are shut. |
The recognition changes happen in two stages: Edict IV makes patrol commanders recognise Coen; Edict VII extends recognition to all soldiers and adds headhunters. Check which edict is active when a familiar road becomes harder to cross.
Jutta, Elder of Clan Gedr, is a headhunter who pursues Coen at Infamy VII. Defeating her is the route to Ring of Focus, which supports charge restoration from hits, blocks and parries.
Plan shopping, travel and night supplies around the edicts
Why have shop prices increased?
Edict III raises the shop buy-price multiplier by 15 percentage points. Edict VI adds another 15 points, bringing the total increase to 30% before any skill discount. Bewitching Influence rank 1 subtracts 15 percentage points from buying prices, while rank 2 sets selling prices to 115% of their level-adjusted value.
For an item with a level, the game first rounds base value × 1.0369^(level − 1). It then applies the current buying or selling multiplier and rounds the final quote again. Check that quote before budgeting for skill manuals or other supplies; combining every factor into one unrounded calculation can differ by one denarius.
When will the Silver Trader serve Coen?
Notorious Infamy at level 4 provides an introduction to the Silver Trader in Svartrau. A written lead to his business is another way to unlock that shop while Infamy is low.
Why are there fewer people outside at night?
Edict V introduces the curfew. With fewer people outdoors, prepare blood vials in quickslots before a night expedition instead of assuming a convenient feeding target will be nearby.
Why are Svartrau’s gates closed?
Edict IX orders Svartrau’s gates shut. Check the Court panel when planning a visit to the city and account for the changed access before setting off. Use the time and shrine guide to plan your day or night travel alongside the active edicts.
The day/night time bar measures activity costs and the campaign deadline. Court Infamy and a boyar’s Anger describe your progress against the regime. Consult the relevant panel for each part of your plan.
