What does Balm of Fortitude protect against?
Choose Balm of Fortitude when you want to reduce incoming physical damage. Fortitude Paste instead raises weapon and fist damage, while Razor Claw Vial raises claw damage. Their similar names describe different combat jobs.
Buying Minor Balm and crafting stronger versions
Anca can stock ready-made Minor Balm of Fortitude. The Minor version provides a small reduction for a base duration of 1 time segment.
The standard balm needs 1 Linseed Oil, 3 Green-Gilled Mushroom and 3 Boar Tusks per craft. The three strengths have separate recipes with different ingredients; the Potent recipe uses Mercurial Water, Chanterelle, Cave Fungus and Bear Liver rather than a lower-strength balm.
Compare strengths and reserve ingredients
Boar Tusks are also needed for standard Fortitude Paste. At base costs, one craft of each uses 4 tusks in total, alongside 1 Linseed Oil, 3 Green-Gilled Mushroom, 1 Weak Spirits and 2 Aconite. Reserve those tusks if you are preparing both defense and weapon damage supplies.
