How to learn Omniblock
The following manual supplies the book unlock for ranks marked “Manual unlock” in the rank table. Skill points and time are spent when you purchase the rank. See the skill book guide for manual requirements and planning examples.
Cheaper Omniblocks first, then a safety net for misread attacks
An Omniblock stops an attack without matching its direction, but it spends Stamina, while a successful Directional Block costs none. This perk trims the Omniblock cost by 10%, 20%, 30% and then 40%. Rank 4 also treats a Directional Block aimed the wrong way as an Omniblock, so a misread attack is still blocked at the reduced price. That matters most on Duelist, which drops the direction marker shown on Story, Fair and Challenging.
The perk has no prerequisite and is the entry point for Perfect Block and Perfect Riposte. Ranks 1 and 2 cost one skill point each and no time, so the first 20% is available immediately. Ranks 3 and 4 require Omniblock Manual and add three points and two time segments, for five points and two segments overall.
Ursul’s teaching offers, opened after Lucky Crossing, include the manual, and Drogos and Ocha list it among possible shop stock. Equipment lowers the same cost: 19 armour pieces and accessories carry an Omniblock stamina cost bonus, ranging from −5% on Squire’s Padded Trousers to −15% on Arbiter’s Medallion.
