Unlock the time-slow ability, then plan its short attack window
Drink Phial of Bakir’s Blood to unlock Shadowstorm. It slows time around Coen in vampire form and uses an equipped ability slot. Activating it costs one Activation Charge and 15% Health, so prepare recovery alongside the attack window.
Ranks 1 and 2 last four and five seconds. Rank 3 lasts six seconds and adds 20% Attack Damage; rank 4 lasts seven seconds, adds 25% Attack Damage and extends the duration by one second when you kill an enemy. The kill extension belongs to the final rank.
The later ranks require Corruption levels 8, 11 and 14. All four ranks cost seven skill points and four time segments in total. Check your current Corruption before reserving points for the final upgrade.
Scarlet Shield fills a different role: it is an equipped recovery effect triggered by blocks. Shadowstorm provides a brief active window for attacking, so compare the two against the slots and healing your nighttime loadout needs.
