About keys in Dawnwalker
Keys in The Blood of Dawnwalker are pick-up items that open one specific door, chest, cage or gate somewhere in Vale Sangora. The game keeps them out of the shop economy: none of the 38 keys has a buy value, a sell value or a weight, so a key never competes for inventory space and is never worth selling. What matters is where you found it and what it opens.
In Svartrau, the Treasury Key opens the cathedral’s separate treasury building. The Stone Key behind its bookcase opens The Hand of Fate’s chest beneath Carpenter Row. Deeper in those ruins, the Old Key opens the ladder door and the Simple Key opens the return shortcut after the armour chamber.
Most key names point at the place they belong to: Cathedral Roof Key, Catacombs Key, Crypt Key, Caretaker’s Key. If you are holding a key and cannot find its door, start from the location or character its text names, then use the interactive map to find that place.
